This book made me feel like a crotchedy old person I m really not, I swear I didn t like the message at all I know, I know, board books about dinosaurs riding steam engines probably aren t supposed to have a message You re right But I found one there anyway, unintended or not, and it bugged me A group of various dinokiddos loads a train with cargo, shovel coal and stokes the flames, and sets off down the tracks for adventure When the train has trouble climbing a steep hill, the dinosaurs This book made me feel like a crotchedy old person I m really not, I swear I didn t like the message at all I know, I know, board books about dinosaurs riding steam engines probably aren t supposed to have a message You re right But I found one there anyway, unintended or not, and it bugged me A group of various dinokiddos loads a train with cargo, shovel coal and stokes the flames, and sets off down the tracks for adventure When the train has trouble climbing a steep hill, the dinosaurs just throw off the freight they loaded Hope no one needed those logs Too much dinothis and dinothat made this book a little annoying for me, but with both dinosaurs and trains it seems this book just might be a little boy s dream come true The rhyme and rhythm are solid, and the humorous last line should make little ones giggle

Meh I thought this book would be better than it was My daughter enjoys dinosaurs, but this book really had no plot Dinos just rode a train, it broke, and they had to come back all cramped together on a platform There was no lesson and it didn t even have a cute story Some of the pictures were funny, which is probably the only reason I didn t give this 1 star I didn t hate it But I didn t enjoy it I had higher hopes for it Perhaps the dino enthusiast will still enjoy it, but I just felt Meh I thought this book would be better than it was My daughter enjoys dinosaurs, but this book really had no plot Dinos just rode a train, it broke, and they had to come back all cramped together on a platform There was no lesson and it didn t even have a cute story Some of the pictures were funny, which is probably the only reason I didn t give this 1 star I didn t hate it But I didn t enjoy it I had higher hopes for it Perhaps the dino enthusiast will still enjoy it, but I just felt like we could have used our time reading a different book withplot or lessons

What kid doesn t like a story with a bunch of colorful dinosaurs in it These dinosaurs take off on a great adventure on a train, but the adventure takes a wrong turn Lund does a great job at incorporating the word dino in every possible way.

  7. Jennifer Jennifer says:

The illustrations were great, but the story was lame and the dinothis and dinothat just got incredibly annoying after the first 30 times Sigh, this one had such potential I mean dinosaurs and trains should be a winning combination for the toddler and preK crowd.

  8. Kelly McAndrew Kelly McAndrew says:

Dinosaurs and trains Whatcould a small boy want My son loves this book The constant rhyming makes it easy for me to read quickly The pictures are bright and captivating There is no moral to the story, just dinosaurs being silly on a train.

  9. Sarah Baker Sarah Baker says:

The art bugs me, and I m not a fan of adding dino to random words to give it the theme.
