On the one hand this book is absolutely terrible, but I m grateful for its existence and I did get quite a bit from it All the way through I was going to give it 1 star because it s so utterly dire in terms of editing, layout and, in many ways, content it is not muchthan a collection of quotes taken from articles and the internet , but I will give the author some credit for taking the time to find it all and put it together, because nobody else has done that It s obvious that sections o On the one hand this book is absolutely terrible, but I m grateful for its existence and I did get quite a bit from it All the way through I was going to give it 1 star because it s so utterly dire in terms of editing, layout and, in many ways, content it is not muchthan a collection of quotes taken from articles and the internet , but I will give the author some credit for taking the time to find it all and put it together, because nobody else has done that It s obvious that sections of the book are written by different people as the writing style changes The parts the author seems to have written are all littered with hyphens instead of other punctuation marks The layout is awful randomly changing line spacing and unjustified text the book is completely littered with spelling errors, typos and missing words The first error is 3 words into the book on the TITLE PAGE where it says License to DRIVE instead of License to Dream Haim gets referred to as Hiam, Ham and at one point, HAZE There are some sequencing issues as well and it is often repetitive, even repeating the same quotes a couple of times. My favourite error was He didn t act like a prim Madonna. In places it is factually incorrect At one point it says his TV show from 1987 , Roomies, was based on a web comic that ran from 1997 to 1999 , which is impossible and in no way true In fact, that entire paragraph has been directly lifted from the Wikipedia page about the Roomies web comic Look further and you will see that many other sections of the book are directly lifted from wikipedia other websites, complete with their errors and even their hyperlinks left underlined It s unsurprising that there is no reference section in this book detailing where the author got the information It s a shame because with a littlework it could have been much better properly researched, maybe some photographs and exclusive interviews However, the author does seem to be a fan of sorts and, despite adding a lot of negative stories about Corey which can t really be avoided if it s going to be accurate , they do seem to have been fair to him, and thankfully gave accurate details of his death e.g NOT an overdose I gotof an insight into his awful struggle with addiction from various accounts given by those around him at the time, as well as some behind the scenes tales from his films I am grateful to Saurav Dutt for putting it all together and publishing it, because sadly Corey can t tell the story himself now, BUT FOR GOD S SAKE, GET YOURSELF AN EDITOR Or at least use spellcheck once in a while.I will be reading Corey Feldman s autobiography soon which I hope will tellintimate stories of MY Corey, however one sided

This is a cheaply made poorly edited book It has spelling errors and obvious large cut and paste jobs for various sources However it is what it is and fills a few gaps Having watched pretty much every teen comedy brat pack movie churned out in the 80s I spent much of my tweenties watching theobscure movies made by the stars of these films, as their careers took different paths mostly downwards I ve read two fascinating to me books recently Corey Feldman s autobiography, and a bi This is a cheaply made poorly edited book It has spelling errors and obvious large cut and paste jobs for various sources However it is what it is and fills a few gaps Having watched pretty much every teen comedy brat pack movie churned out in the 80s I spent much of my tweenties watching theobscure movies made by the stars of these films, as their careers took different paths mostly downwards I ve read two fascinating to me books recently Corey Feldman s autobiography, and a biography of Corey Haim Drug addiction means Haim is dead and unable to tell his own story Corny, but I still clearly remember the shock at hearing of his death while I was driving through Skye in 2010.I was a big fan of many of their films including a lot of their obscure straight to video releases Blown Away, Just One of The Girls, Bordello of Blood, Dream Machine, Prayer of The Rollerboys and Dream a Little Dream 1 2.Feldman s book reads like a pretty honest account of his life He talks about the wild times when he was a pretty big star in films like Goonies, Stand By Me, Lost Boys, Gremlins, Friday 13th and Licence to Drive He cleaned up his act, and continues to make 2 or 3 films a year, as well as enjoying making music with his band and being a dad The pages on his friendship with Michael Jackson are a good read too I ve got your number in my Little Black Book now Corey thanks for that Michael The sexual abuse, alcohol and drugs young actors appear to be exposed too is all pretty grim stuff It s nice to read of the few older, wiser hands, who did try to help these young guys through some of their tough times Richard Donner and Stephen Speilberg for Feldman, and Joel Schumacher for Haim.Unlike Feldman, Corey Haim couldn t survive it all Decline in popularity, worsening drug addiction and numerous failed rehab visits ultimately contributed to his premature death.Of the two Coreys, Haim was the better actor, and hadcharm and charisma A raft of co stars speak very highly of his talent and potential throughout his short lived career But an inability to stay drug free was his undoing. Some ten years after he directed Corey Haim in Lost Boys, Joel Schumacher called him in to audition with George Clooney for the role of Robin in Batman and Robin Joel knew Corey was struggling with drugs but hoped he could clean up his act and live up to his potential I think Haim s slack jawed wise cracking improvisational style would have made an ideal Boy Wonder, but it was not to be Corey was out of it for his audition and there was no way the part could be his Clooney firmly agreed Schumacher took Corey out for dinner that night to talk to him, but over the meal Haim suffered a grand mal seizure and had to be taken to hospital. The later years of Corey Haim s life are filled with similar tales of excess and resulting ill health A sad book but also a thrill to re live some of the old obscure b movies he made I was always less of a fan of Feldman but warmed to him after reading his book I ll always be a Haim fan but his career is really now sadly long forgotten by most He should be remembered as comic book fan Sam Emerson in Lost Boys filled with wide eyed wonder, boundless energy and playful enthusiasm, and not for his bloated cameo in spin off Lost Boys 2 The Tribe and some of his other late 90s guff It really is a shame he never managed to get it together He could have beenthan just one half of a novelty pairing

I have been a Corey fan for years, though I missed his first flush of popularity I discovered his teen movies on VHS after his star had faded in the mid 90 s To this day I still enjoy them I was subsequently really sad to hear of his death This book does a good job of patching the pieces together and offers an insight into what went wrong in Corey s life Some pictures would have been nice, and the book is full of typo s kindle edition , however, it s a small grizzle I enjoyed it.

Terrible, terrible, terrible editing so much so that it s a bit insulting, but definitely deserves a look if read as a follow up to Corey Feldman s bio Coreyography It is nowhere near as riveting, but is stands as a fairly good resource when used as a guide for Feldman s own claims in his biography It s a worth it read.
