While I loved Issue 49 by the same author, this one rubbed me the wrong way on so many levels it was painful Thank god it was only 17 pages and free. The world does not need a story telling me about how a view spoiler fetus feels when getting aborted hide spoiler I know I don t need that. And I know that this one should have come with a tagged trigger warning big as a fucking house While I loved Issue 49 by the same author, this one rubbed me the wrong way on so many levels it was painful Thank god it was only 17 pages and free. The world does not need a story telling me about how a view spoiler fetus feels when getting aborted hide spoiler I know I don t need that. And I know that this one should have come with a tagged trigger warning big as a fucking house

This short story was one I read on , along with two others by the same author.Like the others it was professionally and I would say beautifully written and full of suspense The story is about a contentious subject and JD Hughes handles the balance of opinion very well I did read a review that said it was anti abortion, but I think it is not anti or pro, but does give a truthful account of the process. The story will upset some people, but it is well worth reading with descriptions that li This short story was one I read on , along with two others by the same author.Like the others it was professionally and I would say beautifully written and full of suspense The story is about a contentious subject and JD Hughes handles the balance of opinion very well I did read a review that said it was anti abortion, but I think it is not anti or pro, but does give a truthful account of the process. The story will upset some people, but it is well worth reading with descriptions that live in the mind after finishing the story This might not be a good thing for the squeamish but although the ending is very weird, stay the course for a good read

This is the first book I ve read through Goodreads and I read it because so many people hated it and quite a few loved it It s a short story so something of a dip in the water It was free ontoo, a great incentive for me since I am out of work.Did I love it No It was frigging harrowing and better than some horror stories, but I didn t love it Truth is I found it uncomfortable to read because I suspect it might be true It s about an abortion from the perspective of a woman who s pret This is the first book I ve read through Goodreads and I read it because so many people hated it and quite a few loved it It s a short story so something of a dip in the water It was free ontoo, a great incentive for me since I am out of work.Did I love it No It was frigging harrowing and better than some horror stories, but I didn t love it Truth is I found it uncomfortable to read because I suspect it might be true It s about an abortion from the perspective of a woman who s pretty pissed off with the father of her child and is generally unsettling throughout I didn t find it pro life or preachy as some have suggested, but I suppose it depends where you re coming from However, the writing style is brilliant and has persuaded me to read someof this writer but if you are sensitive and not happy with a description of an abortion, then stay away For those who can take it, then it is well worth a read

This was an intense and difficult story There was a temptation to not finish, not because it was bad it s very well done but because it was simply very disturbing.Regardless of your stance on the topic within, this story will affect you It isn t for the faint of heart, but it IS a well done piece of work.

I ve just read Bomber, another of this author s short stories and I am very impressed with the 500 too It is a genuine horror story based on a reality that many of us push under the carpet, including me It is controversial in that it deals with abortion, but I think it treads the line in a neutral way Great quality writing and a compelling ending Recommended.
