The kids and my dad liked this informational look at Rome The dogs are cute but not cute enough to make me really like this book There's no story just a bunch of information The illustrations of Rome are very good but the dogs are a little cartoonish

This is a fun tour of Rome with Chihuahua siblings Bella and Harry One way to learn a bit about geography and foreign customs is to head on out around the world with Bella and Harry This is one of several books in Adventures of Bella and Harry series one that reluctant readers are sure to enjoy The tour of Rome is a casual one where the young reader can learn about some of the main tourist attractions of the city hopefully using one of them as a stepping stone to further reading The dialogue is casual and conversational and the book is presented in a picture book format The artwork is bright animated and appealing In the back of the book are a few Italian words and phrases If you're interested in a `round the world Chihuahua travel series this is one you may wish to add to your list By D Fowler HALL OF FAME

Here is a great little series to introduce kids to different cultures and countries around the world The story is always about two little chihuahuas and one showing the other around a particular city in the world They explore the great attractions of the city usually have some of the food and even discuss some of the artists At the end of the book there is a page of popular phrases used in that city I thought the series as a whole was very well done They visit the Colleseum and the Roman Forum

Heavy on the history I was a little disappointed we didn't get a better taste for modern Rome on the food and what it's like there today It would have been nice to talk about the Vatican as well instead of just using it as a picture at the end Otherwise still a good book and a nice introduction to the city
