The book Violet Path by Olivia Lodise was phenomenal to read Each chapter led to a exciting adventure than the last and kept the reader on the edge of their seat Written from the point of view of a young teenage girl Alexia the reader can get a thorough grip on what is happening and to all the triumph and distraught that she experiences This book shows the skill and uniue writing ability of the author by finding the perfect balance between not enough detail and too much detail a skill that not many people understandThe plot was strong and clear but a little too fast Each small climax began and would sometimes remain unmentioned for the rest of the book until the end however this was one factor that kept the reader wondering The setting of the book was another interesting part of the book; the diction and imagery brought each scene to life through the description of small things but left out many of the big points These ‘big points’ are things such as the setting of an entire area rather than just explaining one house or the texture of the ground leaving out these basic descriptions left many of the main settings to the imagination of the reader Another part of the setting that was confusing was time versus distance At one point the characters would appear to have been walking for only mere minutes but then later on in the book could be running for an hour and still not have made it to their destination Although the setting was slightly unclear the idea and imagination behind it was uniue The futuristic technology combined with the prospect of a war was an interesting spin that affected both the setting and the plot in a captivating way Finally the characters of this book are one of most fascinating aspects of the book Each character is well developed and has a uniue personality that balances and sometimes affects each other characterOver all this book was not only interesting but had remarkable depth and detail that could only have been written by someone with the skill of a truly amazing author

This book had an idea that could have been ok maybe even good if it had been well developed and well written Instead it was choppy disjointed and poorly writtenI don't like to give bad reviews I read through the entire book hoping it would get better but it didn't The writing was terrible The author told everything instead of showing it through actions and glimpses of things Instead all the information was given by big chunks of poorly written dialogue The character was supposedly smart but she seemed thicker and dumber than a door knobAll the character were two dimensional Attempts were made to give the characters dimensions and growth but all that the author ended up with was characters that never seemed to have the same personality and their personality jumped all over the place without reason And the amount the word sorry was used and the dialogue tag she or he said was used left me annoyed and jarred out of the story each time I read it The dialogue was choppy cheesy and felt force That might have been the two dimensional characters that she tried to force depth into but only ended up with a three dimensional object drawn on a flat surface The romance also felt like insta love and maybe that was just the dialogue making it seem like there wasn't actually a connection thereEverything felt flat disjointed and jarring I hate to say this but I would recommend against reading this book unless you don't care about the uality of the writing I would give this story about a 15 because I finished it and the plot had potential to be betterI received an arc of this book from Net Galley and BB Publishing in return for an honest review

This is the first time in a long while that I haven't been able to finish a book because it was simply that bad I hate putting down a book but I struggled to find any redeeming ualities I tried to forge ahead a little in disbelief that it could stay as bad as it was but it only got worse The world was boring it was hard to care about Alexia and I didn't understand why the leader of her country would spend so much time on her unless she was a hidden daughter or something obvious enough that she should've wondered about it too And I got SO tired of Matthew throwing her around and yelling at her I think there was one page where he threw her around several times and every dialogue tag was he yelled or he screamed and that was the point I gave up It was way too melodramatic and every societyworld Alexia found herself in she was outside the norm of the community So I never really got to see the various worlds Just a few characters You think Matthew wouldn't want her any either when it was obvious she'd never be dedicated to the cause Someone who resistts at every turn and doesn't understand your point of view doesn't make for a very good soldier or generalMaybe someone else will like it but this one definitely wasn't for me This digital copy of Violet Path was given to me by NetGalley BB Publishing in exchange for an honest review

Most people may not be very impressed with this book but I am I read this book with extreme enthusiasm This both was both enjoyable and interesting I later read about the author An incredible woman She began to write this book as a simple writing assignment in 7th Grade but her love for literature encouraged her to write By the time that the was in 12th Grade she had written and published her first book I advise you to learn about the author next time you read a book You often learn things that make you look at the book in a different way

  5. Kristin Kristin says:

This book is poorly written with little character development and no depth to the story which is extremely predictable and unoriginal Similar to Twilight with a forbiddendangerous love story mixed with some action and fantasysci fi elements but with writing that is so bad it's distracting

  6. Julianna Julianna says:

Enjoyed the bookuntil the end Very anti climactic and felt like a stop than an end
