45 starsNo one does sexy wolfy romance like CC The first book in the new Pack series is a hot little read with some mild angst and a light enemies to lovers feel at least on the part of one of the MCs Simon and his mother were banished from the Blue Mountain pack when Simon was but 13 A dozen years later Simon has returned only to find himself held captive by big Alpha wolf Mitch who claims that Simon is his mate To Mitch's chagrin Simon wants naught to do with him Simon has been without a pack for too long and has learned to repress his wolf instincts It will take much patience on Mitch's part to soothe Simon's past hurts Wanting to possess and never let go Mitch makes a pact with Simon stay for one month and let me take care of you CC never disappoints in the feels romance and smex departments Blue Mountain is eual parts tender and steamy The slow burn made the inevitable coming together all the hotter and the dynamics between the two men were very believable There is very little angst here; the focus is firmly on the relationship and on Simon learning to trust Mitch I really enjoyed the secondary characters including Mitch's twin brother and his eually Alpha wife I hope we get to see of this pack in subseuent books This was an engaging beginning to what looks to be another fantastic shifter series from Cardeno C; highly recommended for CC and shifter fansThis Is Happening a new shifter series from CCRaise your hands up and say HELL TO THE YEAH

35 stars Blue Mountain is the second book I’ve read by Cardeno C I really like the writing style and the stories are great but why do they have to be so short??? I’m always left wanting so much of these characters and their stories Simon is an Omega wolf that was cast out of his Pack when he was a teen Something important brought him back to the place he thought he’d never return to Blue Mountain When Alpha wolf Mitch catches his scent he automatically knows who Simon is His mate He would do anything to keep him safe Anything to protect him Now if only Simon would let him things would be much easier The first half was a lot of push and pull It took a lot for Simon to overcome his demons and trust that Mitch would never hurt him or let anyone else do that Mitch was wonderful My favorite for sure I love a strong alpha with a heart of gold Mitch is one of those guys that can be gruff and scary to everyone else but with Simon he’s a huge teddybear I love stories about shifters There’s something about the shifters that are so primal and I wish we would have gotten of the guys as wolves By the end I was really happy with the direction the story went Like I said before it would have been much better for me if we would have gotten I loved both Simon and Mitch and the secondary characters we got glimpses of Mitch’s brother and his mate too If you’re looking for a short and sweet mm book with a little bit of sexy I would check this one out This author does short and sweet very well “Simon?” Mitch leaned down until their faces were inches apart“Yeah?” Simon parted his lips and flared his nostrils
“You’re beautiful” Those pretty green eyes widened and Simon’s breath came out in fast pants “I don’t know how to respond to that”
“That’s okay” Mitch hunched down and leaned his forehead against Simon’s “I just want you to know I noticed”

One of these days I'm going to get over the thought that I'm being a major party pooper when I write a less than enthused review Probably not today but soon Ish Soon ishUntil then I'll just have to own itOkay there’s a lot of good stuff here I like the set up Mitch is a 6’ 7” Alpha wolf whose fighting abilities and intimidating demeanor make him an outsider in his brother Frederick’s pack He’s the pack’s main ass kicker but other than his brother and young niece he scares everyone else around him On Halloween night four members of the pack show up at Frederick’s place to inform him there’s a foreign wolf on Blue Mountain territory Apparently they’ve already gone to the trouble showing him what's what as they have enough blood on them that Mitch realizes they’ve run into his mate Said wolf is Simon who has spent half his life moving from town to town constantly getting the shit kicked out of him for having the audacity to be born a male Omega who digs other dudes Apparently other wolves can just smell it on him Given Simon’s past it’s understandable that’s he not too excited when Mitch takes him to his isolated cabin in the woods and yet Mitch still manages to talk him into sticking around for the next month So ensues their rocky road to romanceOne part of Blue Mountain I enjoyed is the difference between what wolves are “supposed” to be and what they actually are Mitch is an Alpha and therefore physical growly and intent on having his own way And yet Mitch happily supports his brother rather than go his own way Simon is an Omega who are traditionally female submissive and devoted to the comfort of others It’s natural for them to literally roll over and bare their bellies to Alpha wolves But Simon is stubborn and really doesn’t care what his wolf wants as he’s mainly concerned with his own survival Neither is as they should be and that’s what eventually makes them perfect for each otherNormally the above would make me do a little happy dance Werewolf shifters and their troubling romances yay Yet I have two large problems with this bookFirst Simon’s sexual history Simon has been not only physically abused by every werewolf pack he’s come in contact with but he implies that he’s been sexually abused as well Later he says he’s never done anything physical at all I took this to mean that he’d never willingly done anything physical with anyone And yet after 3 weeks spent in Mitch’s company he’s ready to have sex with first of all what reads as extremely little physical preparation there’s some lube and finger action and then he’s riding Mitch’s giant schlong like a twink on YouPorn and second of all absolutely no sign of any emotional scarring I have a very hard time believing that someone with Simon’s past would not be hesitant during sex even if he is with his magical mate Three weeks with your one true love does not negate half of lifetime of abuseMy second problem is Mitch’s constant reassurances to Simon that the Blue Mountain pack is different and no wolf there will abuse him for being gay or a male Omega Okay well what about the four pack members who found him on Blue Mountain territory in the first place? Who “roughed him up” enough that they had blood on them? Who said all sorts of comforting things like “we left the Omega for the Alpha to finish off” One of them while referring to Simon “scrunched his nose and pursed his lips as if he tasted something bitter” Alright maybe beating someone up isn’t as big a deal in the wolfy world because shifters heal faster; maybe they took an instant dislike to Simon because he was on pack land without the Alpha’s permission; maybe it has nothing to do with Simon’s being gay or an Omega but it sure read that way to me Really Mitch has no proof that his pack is different only the assurance that he’ll change those men’s minds and if he can’t he’ll beat the living shit out of them While the thought of that is enjoyable it really didn’t make me feel better I need proof I need to see the actual ass kicking I need those guys to be super super sorry and promise to get over themselves Instead it felt like the matter was dropped entirelyBoth these issues may have been dealt with thoroughly if the book had been a little longer Simon’s abusive past and some of the pack’s attitude toward malegay Omegas were too complicated to resolve in a satisfactory manner in just I’m guessing a hundred pages Having said all that I’m really curious about the next book in the series Simon mentions briefly meeting someone from the Red River Pack and I’d wager the next book will be about him Or maybe it will be about another member of the Blue Mountain Pack Already I’m feeling that burning in my veins to find out what happens next25 starsCopy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review

MineWhy does that single word send shivers down my spine? Instantly my breath catches and my heart begins to race It’s a powerful word Similar to pack I have given up trying to explain or justify my obsession with shifters I love them I love their commitment passion and predestined fate I find the inner animal sharing the heart and soul of the man thrilling I adore growling wolves declaring their dominance and confirming utmost devotion to their mate with a piercing stare or a uick bite The words not spoken by a shifter are often my favorite I’m not certain how I’ve missed the Blue Mountain pack before now but I’m so very pleased to have found themSpeaking of findingMitch has found his mateFinallyTheir meeting was not exactly what he envisioned but regardless he’s not complaining He’s fairly accommodating for an alpha He’s not ‘the’ alpha of the pack his twin wears those shoes But he holds notable rank in his new pack The Blue Moutain pack has recently been reformed The previous corrupt alpha was challenged and defeated The victors have taken over the pack with a different approach by an authoritative set of brothers that made my toes curl Fate may bring Simon into Mitch’s orbit but he’s going to have to fight like hell to keep him Good thing he’s a natural born fighter Coincidentally so is his mate Can they make it work? Or will Simon’s troubled past block their connection? Eeeek You should really find outWhat's to like Typically I’m severe with my opinions on the wolfman bond I want to feel the shift But than that I want to feel the wolf simmering under the man Despite their superficial transition I did get what I craved with the clear cut shifter senses Senses can make or break a shifter story for me and this a roaring success Simon hasn’t had the easiest past and he’s never rolled over and exposed his bellyhe’s not about to start now Except for some reason he really wants to His head tells him not to trust anyone but his heart disagrees There’s something special about Mitch and he’d love to sink into those solid arms and justsee Maybe this wolf will be different? sigh Yeah Simon he’s fine gulp I mean it’s gonna be just fine Simon has denied his wolf things out of necessities but his future could be very different for both of them if he can only trust his new mate Soon he discovers trust is love; both are unfamiliar to Simon but suddenly he aches for them Listening to his wolf brings all sorts of emotions to the surface and I loved witnessing his recoveryWhat's to love Love is patient Love is kind Love is also licking wounds and hunting prey Ha Patience is not a trait I would generally associate with shifters especially an alpha But Mitch displays endless patience with his new mate He craves him and would do anything for him includingwait Consent is so very sexy Simon needs time to trust and accept the sudden flip flop of his world He’s used to wandering and relying on absolutely no one Strangers can’t be trusted but pack’s betrayal hurts worse than a stranger’s wrongdoing He doesn’t know Mitch but he does know how Mitch makes him feel which is safe I loved their timid yet resolute mating I loved the meddlesome family and brotherly love And I love the fact that this series isn’t overBeware of Wolves are driven by instinct and sometimes their sex driveexpect passion Healing and harmony occur hereboth in heart and soul And a slow simmer bursts into a sizzling infernoThis book is for If you like your shifters stubborn and ridiculously bossy this omega’s homecoming should definitely make your wishlist Gotta run there’s a river calling my name Book UNfunk

35 stars3 stars for the story and another 12 star for the narration very nicely done by Sean CrisdenI've read stories like this one before but I keep coming back to them You know what I mean The big bad alpha male shifter falling for the formerly abused submissive mate There is insta love and insta MINE but I keep coming back It is a theme that never gets old for me Cardeno C does shifters often and does them well I really like this author's HOT uber masculine guys that often border on romantic enough to be sappy This story is no different It was very sweet with some light angst and a fairly slow burn love story for a shifter book I think that there is a lot of potential there but there were some plot holes and details that left me wanting I wanted to know a great deal about the pack and pack structure This felt like the intro to a longer book in a lot of ways The way that the pack reacted in the beginning of the story to the news of a male omega in the territory was very different from how Mitch assures Simon that they will treat him I'm curious as to what their reception of Simon will be and what challenges that would bring someone as skittish as Simon Also Simon hinted at a history of abuse of many kinds and I thought that once his relationships with Mitch finally became physical we would see some kind of trauma from that abuse peak through It didn't happen It was strange to me how Simon morphed from super shyreluctant to mini porn star so uickly However despite some issues I enjoyed this novella A great deal of that is surely from Sean Crisden's awesome audiobook narration I loved his voice for Mitch familiar from those used to listening to Crisden but no less sexy and I thought he did a great job bringing this book to life Can't wait to read about the other sexy and undoubtably GAY wolves in this pack Copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review

35 HEARTS Let's get a few things out of the way shall we?This was my very first Cardeno CWhat rock have I lived under? I know I knowI heard lots of things about this author her work tends to lean toward the fluffy category there will be a possessive MC usually and crazy antics might ensues etcI like cray cray from time to time The fluffnot as much But I can see why this author has a following I don't know how to judge this on a Cardeno C scale I guess you'd find use from an expert or fan if this is standard fare or not in that aspectFor me it was decent for shifter story I enjoyed the key elements There was a possessive Alpha but on a scale on possessive heroes I've read all types he's kind of tame it is sweet fluffed out serious topic past rape instead of describing the event it was vaguely mentioned it didn't have to be detailed graphically for me but at least have the victim actually admit something happened There's a ginger omega which are two types of characters I love separately together it was a nice bonus And he was stubborn I enjoy that too And a big loner gentle giant main character claps hands together Oh yeah Being mine doesn't mean you're a slave It means you're mine to touch Mine to care for Mine to protect Mine to know See good elementsMitch is a twin Alpha of the Blue Mountain pack His charismatic brother runs the pack However the twins are super close and helped defeated the evil baddie alpha for good But Mitch is gay and lonely he's 6'7 and wants a mate Lo and behold and little omega outcast Simon is in Blue Mountain territory the little ginger shifter has been treated horribly for most of his twenty five years He's been a victim of homophobia brutalized by a gang and starved based on the omega nature and the way he smellsThe author explains ita lot The werewolf society how a pack is set up their abilities etc Basically omegas are nurturers and strengthen packs Alphas are protectors Sometimes I felt the explanations were too wordy Also Simon was a werewolf by birth Yes he and his mother were kicked out once he hit puberty and he lived on the pack outskirts before that but it was like he needed Mitch to explain to him about being werewolf That part I could have done without Also the hokey fluff that kind of padded the story I'd have loved a sharper story less sugar However the story toldit worked for them Mitch was patient and kind of Simon's wishes the two can't deny their mate bond and there's hot sex in the last 25% into a HEA Sweet fluff paranormalIt's a shifter sugar cookie Mitch? Simon rasped Uh huh? Will you kiss me again? I'll be kissing you for the rest of our lives Then it hit me This story is a literary sugar cookie a frigging sugar cookieAnd who gets upset with a sugar cookie?

Again this is the case of me being late to the party 😅 I have read hundreds of shifter romances at this point At least 300 400 books of them trust me I don’t mark everything here on my bookshelves 🤷‍♀️ And this book was published back in 2014 If I’m not making any sense please bare with me for a bit 😁 What I am saying is that if I read this book when it was first published I might have liked it way than I do right now 🙂 For now I just felt like this was a mediocre okay ish shifter romance story Nothing that spectacular and memorable 😶 And I didn’t like the omega Simon Sean Crisden is one of my favorite narrators and I usually love his performance And I loved his portrayal of Alpha Mitch but I absolutely hated his omega Simon voice in this one So the narration also didn’t help the story All in all I’m not impressed 😑 I need to try CC books before I make final judgement 😁3 Eh it was okay stars⭐️⭐️⭐️Audio rating Story 275 stars ⭐️⭐️🌟Narration 35 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫Performance 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️Overall 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The story of a lonely Alpha wolf who finally discovers his Omega mate The story is pleasant mild and sweet The Omega wolf is scared of other wolves he does not trust easily and he has recently lost his only family Conseuently he is very reluctant to this mating The Alpha wolf has to approach his mate very carefully and patientlyIt is not a bad story but I read “Red River” before this book and that was a great book As I result I was expecting something creative and original Although it was a pleasant book I wish it had a few things I have not read before in other shifters’ books

Written February 8 201533 Stars Cozy sweet wolf loveA 330 hrs audiobook novella narrated by Sean Crisden I haven't read that much by Cardeno C but tenderly sweet seems to be her cup of tea Sometimes it works for me and so it did this time Blue Mountain is perfect if you just want to snuggle over a nice short shifter MM Mitch Grant is the 'second' Alpha shifter wolf and his life is mostly to support his twin brother in leading the Blue Mountain pack He is uite lonely and want to also meet his own 'mate' Preferably a male wolf This novella adventure starts when a strange Omega wolf Simon Moorehead is discovered on pack territory Simon is a scared wandering man who has learned to bury his gentle nature in the interest of survival When a huge strong rough faced Alpha wolf tries to catch him is escape his only thoughtBut Mitch know there is something special with Simon and he just want to take this beautiful guy home to his house Sweet as sugar and so amazing cute that my romantic heart can't but melt with pleasure I know this maybe is just too awww ohhh cozy and kind of ridiculous fawning tender But who don't want a silly smile on your face for a few hours doing kitchen stuff before the guests arrives a Saturday evening or with a cup of coffee on a sunny Sunday morning? I'll not say no to such a small smexy tidbit Pleasurable touching and yummy hot at the end uickly done and well narrated was it too There will be CC books when my sugar level is low A nice wolf shifter romance can never be wrong I LIKE cheesy lovely wolf tales sometimes

Reread January 2018I’d probably give this 25 3 stars now Simon grated on my nerves a bit But overall it’s just a sweet low angst story Originally read October 201535 starsSweet little shifter mm romance Mitch was so sweet and possessive He really takes the time to allow Simon to be comfortable with him and to heal Not much happens it's just the two of them getting to know each other and come to terms with them being mates
