Bone Tongue [Ebook] ➦ Bone Tongue ➥ Scherezade Siobhan – Capitalsoftworks.co.uk Bone Tongue is the anatomy of the sharpest rose It is sculpted from each petal's sleeping body This is a collection of diary entries from the poet when she was suffering from severe clinical depressio Bone Tongue is the anatomy of the sharpest rose It is sculpted from each petal's sleeping body This is a collection of diary entries from the poet when she was suffering from severe clinical depression and it gathers the repetition of every ache into a filigree of poems Maybe these aren't even poems Maybe each page carries a cult of foxes gathered around a fire waiting for the midnight to fall Maybe it is a single hour caught in the butterfly effect Maybe it is the distance between death and dreaming The tongue has calcified the way a mind makes a relic out of every memory Days are chiselled into verses that get carved onto this hard shelled tabula rasa It is a constellation of cicatrices It screams It kicks its own cure It walks like a war song naked bloody glowing.

Siobhan first caught my eye as a talented poet on Tumblr She is a fearless wordsmith While Siobhan unearths nouns and adjectives from the depths of the dictionary weaving them into thoughtful metaphors she also deftly handles common wordsthen you are in a cab and the city is a cinema of gradually dying candlestraffic lights wink their impending mischief day 46 between atlas and earthsun thawing into himalayan honeybehind the caravan of clouds day 50 hope is a four lettered wordyou will take a pair of craft scissors to your hair;cut away the wings woven into your tressesso you can forget the etiuette of flying day 13 what you won't let them do a stand out poemI will say that this volume of poetry didn't give me the same feeling of raw emotion that I gleaned from Siobhan's Tumblr It felt calculated cerebral and I suspect that that enervated its staying power Despite that her mastery of words is undeniable; she remains one of my favorite contemporary poets next to nayirrah waheed and Richard Siken
