This was the last of the novellas in the Lorien Legacies series that I put off reading because it encompasses three point of views of different Mogadorians and I really didn't feel like reading anything in their point of view However I didn't mind this as much as I thought I would The writing was on par with all of the other books and novellas in the series and it was interesting to get a different viewpoint on everything that was happening towards the end of the series I'm glad I read it but it was probably the least necessary of any of the novellas technically none are necessary in order to read the Lorien Legacies series although I think the ones with Adam are most relevant

I liked Rex's perspective but the other ones ESPECIALLY Phiri Dun Ra's made me want to tear my hair out It's frustrating and annoying to read—which understandably is the point

Three Mogadorian POV'sAt last an insight on what's happening within the other sideOne's a deranged trueborn devotee of the Mogadorian cause who given a chance would wholeheartedly sacrifice her life to protect her Beloved Leader Eager to prove her worth after the Gardes thwarted her again and againLoyal and dedicated but an insane believer nevertheless Next one's a blood thirsty vast born Mog A fearless hunter a predator thrilled when face with their enemies whom he can easily crushed with his hands One who craves carnage and bloodshed Brutal Fierce and psychotic Deadly combinationsAnd lastly Another trueborn Mog born and raised as a merciless soldier but started to have doubts and uestioned their cause He's longing for peace within this senseless war but in the end where will his allegiances lie?I can't wait for the thrilling conclusion of one of my favorite series

Hunt for the Garde is split into three parts and in each part we learn about a different MogadorianPart one is about Phiri Dun Ra and she is a Trueborn commander who serves under Setrakus Ra Most of this part takes place right after 6 impales Ra with a pipe and how Dun Ra steps up to be his voice During this time we discover that Zakos is taking the human garde and trying to take their loric powers In turn this is how Dun Ra gets powers in The Fate of TenPart two is about Vintaro Ushaba and he is a Vatborn Mogadorian leader He is assigned a team to take out some of the human garde Everything was going fine until they got sent to Niagara Falls This is where the human garde fought back and Ushaba was killedPart three is about Rexicus Satumus and oh man am I happy Pittacus Lore added this to this book Adam and Rex are my favorite two Mogs Adam and Rex met when Rex helped Adam escape from Plum Island This part ends with the ship Rex is on also goes to Niagra Falls where he ends up meeting up with Adam again

The 15th evolution of the Lost Files was split into 3 parts This was an interesting set of stories in that it focused entirely on the Mogadorians Unlike past stories this did not focus on a Mogadorian that wanted to switch sides this was about a 3 different Mogadorians 2 of which have nothing but hate for the Loric and Humans and a third which is somewhat unsureThe first story follows Phiri Dun Ra immediately after the events of the Fate of Ten in which Setrakus Ra has been struck down This is a really interesting read as it follows the Mogadorian Trueborn and what she does during this epic battle at Mexico up onto the ramp of the Anubis when Ra is hit with the debris and then after I am not going to give any spoilers but needless to say this is a must read for any fan of the series as it gives some real insight about what is coming and the lead up to United as OneIt also gives some insight into the brutal life of the Mogadorians the sheer one mindedness of their culture and the ultimate devotion to Setrakus Ra their beloved leaderThe second story is of a similar nature following Vintaro Ushaba a vatborn soldier in the city of Chicago Vintaro is one of the better performing soldiers and has been tasked with collecting Human’s with Garde like abilities He accepts this mission with a fanatical zeal that can only be found in one so devoted to a cause Both the 1st and 2nd parts of this book show a ridiculously scary side to the Mogadorian way completely brainwashed psychopathic devotion to ‘Beloved Leader’ with no regard to the fact that Setrakus Ra made up the ‘Great Book’ and everything about himself and they just happily follow blindly along with it doing anything and everything he says including dying It does show that there is no hope for a peaceful resolution with the Mogs they do not understand this concept only utter domination or destruction They are only happy when violating killing or destroyingSo the first 2 parts are a happy couple of reads The third part however is somewhat different taking us back to Rexicus Saturnus I really want to know how they generate the names of these guys and is there one of those things to generate your own Mog name – you know Last 3 letters of your Pets Name plus the planet corresponding to the number of your year of birth the Trueborn that helped Adam escape the base at Plum Island in the Lost Files #6 The Forgotten Ones Rexicus has moved to a warship after his dealings with Adam no longer able to be planetside This story is again running during the time frame after the Fate of Ten and just before United as One so not only do we get to catch up on Rex see some of the unrest at the rumours of Setrakus Ra being wounded amongst the rank and file of the Mogs but it brings us up to speed for the start of United as OneDuring this story Rex is battling with his own inner demons as well should he have joined Adam? Is the Mog way the right way? Rex is an unusual Mog smarter than most raised on Earth he can see that the method of destruction of all is not a sound way to exist He is also doubtful of ‘Beloved Leaders’ mantra as he sees that he might be fallible after all he wrote everything they are obeying why is he so right? How did he get hurt if he is so powerful? It makes for a very interesting read in the face of the first two stories of such blatant unwavering fanaticism Overall this is a really well written set of stories and although it is a bit full on in parts if you can look past the brutality and the over the top devotes then this is actually a fascinating read especially the third partAnd if you are a fan then it's worth it for the overall story update regardless

I liked this book a lot but I've read them all think they're all fantastic Usually a series throws in novellas that add nothing to the plot but with the Lost Files I feel like we've gotten really dialed in with extra details that enrich the storyThere are three main stories here the first Legacies Reborn focuses on new Garde Daniela one of the teens from earth who gained a legacy upon awakening Lorien on earth It's Daniela's POV throughout so yeah not a lot of newness to sink your teeth into but her POV adds to the narrative of the series all the same Last Defense follows Malcolm Goode as he heads to a secret government bunker to advise the President how to help the Loric and win the war This follows book 6 building on Malcolm's experiences is his POV Good as it shows behind the scenes details we didn't know and connects those plays from the ending of book 6 to the start of book 7 Hunt for the Garde is by far the best chapter is told from the POV of 3 mogs a true born leader Phiri Dun Ra after the Sanctuary battle a vat born leader Vintaro Üshaba who is a blind follower of Setrakus Ra his POV documents the search for the new human Garde allies of the Loric The last and my favorite part of this last section was from the POV of Rexicus Saturnus a true born the same one who helped Adam escape Plum Island It turns out ol' Rexicus wasn't exactly as much of a follower in blind faith of Setrakus Ra as we thought when he and Adam parted ways His POV takes place on a warship in Canada it helps describe the conseuences of Setrakus Ra's radio silence as he heals in a vat from his injuries at the hand of Six The last portion with the Mogs POV was best but they all had something worth while in them My only complaint? The final 80 pages were previews of past books This series? Book lite it isn'tif you want to get the most out of it you need to read them all I'm sure most fans have so I wish they would either shorten the lost files books instead of adding a ton of extras in the form of previews to the back It hurt my heart to get to the cliffhanger this book ends on then flip the page only to find a preview of a book I've already READ Other than that it's great
