This was an informative book written in reader friendly terms Plenty of screen shots made the text easy to navigate and understandBook borrowed through the inter library loan system###########

It was OK but I've seen better books in the UE Publishing system that were much better Still if someone knows nothing it's better than not having a guide at all

If you've read my reviews before you know I'm a programmer This book is too easy for me I had expressed interest in another ue book and the publisher sent me a bunch of books in the same box It's a good book though and I'll be giving it to my mother the next time I see herFirst the book defines senior as 50 It has an AARP logo on the front which matches this Keep in mind they mean people ages 50 that don't use social media If you already know how to use FaceBook you'd be bored There was on odd sentence that said “if you are old enough to remember the 70s and 80s” Wouldn't you have to be if you were 50? Anyway that's not important The actual technical content was greatThe first part of the book is conceptual What is social media for? What sites are popular for seniors? What can you do on them? Then comes step by step instructions for common tasks Just like my mom asks me to write for her when teaching her everything They use the current version of the website I worry that as the sites update their site and the screenshots don't match people will get confused but this can't be helpedThere were good tips including warnings on privacy There was a tiny bit of inconsistency I noticed that the privacy chapter warns about giving sites access to your email But then the “how tos” describe it without referencing the warningI really liked the big red “it's not all good” boxes to get the reader's attention Plus the author used pictures of his cute grandson in the examples Disclosure I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for writing this review on behalf of CodeRanch

  4. Betty Betty says:

This is an extremely helpful guide for women over 70 like me Every chapter enlightened me about ways to use social media in my personal life as well as in business The information gained will make me a better volunteer with some non profit organizations that I have joined

  5. Ronan Anthony O& Ronan Anthony O& says:
