Rimelda is a seer with great talent and she's sure she can help end the war Trying to work with Prince Ander to do so proves to be a little challenging than she bargained for as he doubts her abilities and there is some attraction presentMost of this book takes place on the uest to stop the war which keeps the adventure going Things often happen suddenly which spikes the tension levels and then they would drift down to a steady pace again Personally I would have loved the romantic interactions to be gradual as they often happened out of the middle of nowhere and were very impulsive with regrets as to the outcomes often than not Prince Ander is definitely a bit frustratingI enjoyed the minor mysteries surrounding the uest and the surprises that crop up The characters are fun and are not your stereotypical ones The adventure and battles are what really drives the story to the climax This is a great addition to a high fantasy seriesContent violence war talk of death and killing in non graphic details; mild romance kissing CleanI received a copy in exchange for an honest review

Thanks to Serena Clarke for giving me this book to reviewThe Secret of Isian is the final book in this trilogy and while I really liked this novel it was my least favourite of the trilogy Mostly because I did not feel the chemistry between Ander and Rimelda especially compared to the first two books This book has uests and prophecies but also came across as heavier than the previous books as it deals with deeper issues Ander is humble considerate and brave who always thinks of others before himself I was not the biggest fan of Rimelda as even though she is straight talking and confident while also being secretive she was just too good at everything which made her come across as smugI enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading what Serena Clarke writes next I would recommend The Secret of Isian to fans of the first two books in the series and those who like fairytale like fantasy novelsThis and my other reviews can be found at Amethyst Bookwyrm

Fantastic read So fun to escape our world into this magical realm Lots of adventure and a truly humble hero that is worth admiring Prince Ander and Rimelda each have so much responsibility on their shoulders They are determined to protect Camdia and free their people from the darkness In the processes they learn about themselves and each other I loved that both the hero and the heroine are both such very good people They each are willing to sacrifice much to overcome the darkness that is destroying their lands I love that is is their truly good ualities that helps them conuer their enemies I look forward to from Serena Clark

  4. Heather Heather says:

The kingdoms are preparing for war gathering behind Prince Garin or his power hungry younger brother Darkness has descended on the land and rain hasn't fallen for months As the heir to the throne Prince Ander is once again sent on a uest for a powerful artifact by the seer Rimelda This time she insists on going with him Rimelda claims that Ander has a destiny greater than what he imagines for himself but he doubts Rimelda's visions and his own self worth As they travel further Ander begins to understand his place in prophecy and his feelings for RimeldaThis is the third book in the Isian trilogy and I'd recommend reading the first two books before this one although it's not reuired to understand the plot While the country has descended into war it happens off screen and the book is focused on Ander's journey to find a secret weapon to end the war Because of this there's no sense of urgency and it doesn't feel like the stakes are that high so the book can vacillate between action and romance with no harm to the overall plotI enjoyed the characters the story is told from Ander's point of view but we still get a good impression of Rimelda's personality Ander is a humble prince a good leader and a compassionate person Rimelda has a strong presence but she does tend to keep things from Ander My favorite characters were the band of men traveling with the pair with their distinct personalities and their jokes and suabbles They added a lightness to the story whenever neededThe trilogy has the same narrator for all three books which I always appreciate and she did a great job narrating this one as well Her voice is pleasant and she portrayed the characters well I received a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review

This is the third of the Isian cycle which I received for free from the author in return for my honest review All opinions are my ownI was very excited to read the conclusion of the Isian cycle and find out how the story wraps up Our main character Prince Ander is on a uest to find an enchanted weapon that can end the war and darkness that is plaguing all of Isian He takes his trustiest Knights and Rimelda the seer to help guide him on his uestTheir travels take them all over the kingdom seeking help from Centaurs dragons and other kings Throughout the journey Ander is consumed with doubt that he is the right one to claim the weapon and save the day At first he seems a bit self serving in this doubt looking for reassurance but as the story continues you see that he really doesn't feel worthy of being the one to save the day He even doubts his feelings towards Rimelda though they are as plain as day to everyone elseAlong the way they run into the main characters from past stories and it feels like a family reunion to get to see Prince Garin Elani and Princess Gabrielle Prince Alec again I thoroughly enjoyed this conclusion to the series It was a satisfying adventure with some unexpected twists along the way I highly recommend the entire series starting with The Treasure of Isian to start as the story builds nicely through each book and different aspects of the Isian are introduced in each installment

  6. BookLoversLife BookLoversLife says:

Book 3 centers on Prince Ander and a seer called Rimelda She has told Ander that there is an artifact that will help end the war forever He sets out with a few trusted men and Rimelda to find it He doesn't fully trust Rimelda because a lot of the uests she sent him on have turned out wrong but she insists that's because he didn't follow her advice There is a prophecy and Rimelda insists that Ander has a big role in it but Ander has heard the prophecy and doesn't believe he will play a part Can they stop this war before it's too late I have to say that this one was the best yet This is what I was hoping for in the previous 2 This had action and adventure as well as the sweet romance This is like it I loved this one a lot than the previous 2 Rimelda is by far my favourite character of the series She was bad ass and awesome She is a seer and had a vision about the artifact and knows Ander has a big role to play but he is stubborn and doesn't believe her She knows she has to go on this uest with him I loved her character Ander was also awesome he is such a sweet heart I loved seeing their relationship progress In all this was like what I wanted Filled with action and adventure it's a good read Overall the series was enjoyable and I'm gad I read it The I read the I liked it Again I have to stick with what I said about the narrator in the previous 2 reviews She is clear and easy to understand but needs to work on her male tones and work on putting emphasis on her inflections to really bring the story to life I was voluntarily provided this audiobook for free from the author narrator or publisher This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts

I highly recommend The Secret of Isian and the entire Isian Trilogy by Serena Clarke It is an enchanting adventure series filled with mystery action and romance The Secret of Isian is the third and final book in the series which centers around Prince Ander He is a truly remarkable hero who garners the respect and admiration of everyone with whom he meets Ander is sent on a uest to find a secret weapon that will help protect his people and end the war that has been brewing since the first book Rimelda is a “seer” who helps Ander on his uest to end the war Despite Ander doubting her abilities there is an undeniable attraction between the two I especially enjoyed how Ander and Rimelda are both humble and good natured people who would sacrifice themselves to save just one man I listened to the Audible version of this story narrated by Carolyn Kashner who did a great job narrating with varying voices for both male and female characters Because this story picks up almost immediately after the second book The Alliance of Isian I recommend starting with the first book The Treasure of Asian to better understand the overarching premise and interrelationships between the characters For example the villain in this book is introduced in the first book but not mentioned at all in the second And the hero and heroines of the other two books make appearances in this one Be forewarned though once you start listening to this series it will suck you in and won't let you go until you are finished with it

  8. Charissa Charissa says:

This fantasy can be read as a stand alone but has a few of characters from earlier books in the Isian series that will be familiar if you have read those This takes Prince Ander on a journey to find the secret weapon to destroy the darkness that has overtaken the entire land and caused wars famines and other horrors He takes a suadron of trustworthy men and Rimelda—a pretty seer who baffles him—as his helpers The journey is long and tests their mettle in many uniue ways as they grow and develop as friends and comrades This was my least favorite in this series because the romance didn’t cut it for me but the fantasy part and action was pretty good and that is the bulk of the book My favorite in this series was book 2 but I was happy to see Prince Ander get his own story I liked him in Book 1 I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my fair and honest review

  9. Leslie Fisher Leslie Fisher says:

This is a good fantasy book and even though the story can stand alone I have read the previous books in the series I think I actually liked the previous two slightly better than this one but I enjoyed seeing the overlap of characters and learning about them This book has action mystery and romance as well as some light humor so it has a lot to like and I appreciated that it was cleanfamily friendly though the interest level would be closer to young adult I listened to the Audible audio version narrated by Carolyn Kashner I thought she did a good job with her different character voices and keeping the story moving along If you clean fantasy this is a good series to check out

  10. Anna del C. Dye Anna del C. Dye says:

Rimelda is a seer and to her frustration Ender the prince won't take her seriously She tells him he is the one who will bring peace and light to a world of darkness but he doesn't believe her Together they have to find peace between themselves and their world if they are to survive the evil forces that want to take their spirits awaySerena has done a great job in bringing this trilogy to an end She has three stand alone books that together will give you a clear view of the magnificent fantasy world she has created Battles trolls centaurs magic and blend together to bring you a story that you will enjoy forever
