I had figure eight on the brain I dreamed it saw it on the wall on people's foreheads That is the opening line from this mystery story That opening line is so true I could not figure out the meaning of the figure eight It was found on a piece of paper in the doctors hand he wrote it just before someone poisoned him with prussic acid in a glass of wine You have to read about 95 percent of the book then the eight makes sense I got into a friendly argument with someone who said this was a naughty book I previewed 2 chapters before I added it to my TBR I thought it reminded me of an Agatha Christie story The Body in the Library They insisted it was nothing even close to Agatha Christie I think someone got the title or author mixed up It was written in the 1800's Metta Victoria Fuller Victor was the first woman crime writer It is a good old fashioned mystery that will keep you guessing until the very last chapter It did seem a little slowmaybe a bit outdated for some I liked reading about the old fashioned parties Felt really sorry for Bertha on her wedding night that is when the mystery unfolded and chaos broke out I would recommend it if you like cozy mysteries
