This was a very beautifully illustrated book that went with the words of the story It was a bit 'older' for my 2 year old granddaughter even though we usually read older stories for her but it was okay because the illustrations on each page was bright enough and 'fun' to look at We discussed the birds after we read about them The seasons as on each page some are summer some are fall some are winter etc and we also pointed to other things and talked about them If you like nature and outside you'll love this book for your young reader Or it can be used for the older elementary school children as guides to various birds and the world they live in

  4. Daniel Daniel says:

This is a fantastic book and yet seems relatively unknownThe art is simply superb Brings to mind the works of Maxfield ParrishThere is no story rather 20 or so extremely short stories The premise is to help identify the calls of some birds I believe that Audry Wood has achieved that goal uite wellIf you have any interest at all in the outdoors birds or just some really nice art than you really should look at this book

  5. Kimberly Ward Kimberly Ward says:

I have always loved Audrey Wood’s books since reading The Napping House I liked this book because it depicts the different birds and their “Birdsongs” they we each see and hear in different cultures and places The book has beautiful pictures from Robert Florczak each picture is framed with an art deco mode border This book reminds of an Eve Bunting style book
