This was a sweet romance I always enjoy these kinds of stories the girl who had a crush on her brothers friend Luci had a crush on Cody in high school nothing ever came of it since he was older and especially once he left town to become a free lance photographer Luci has now finished college and is starting her own career when Cody shows up back in her life She thinks her crush is over but having to spend so much time working together those old feelings are hard to keep away I liked that we get both POV in this story it’s fun to see things from Cody’s point of view He always knew Luci liked him before and at first is confused when she is giving him the cold shoulder I liked seeing his feelings for Luci evolve and become something real They have their own obstacles to overcome but those things just make their romance stronger I thought this was a fun read a nice escape in a charming small town setting If you enjoy contemporary romance this is a good one ContentRomance CleanLanguage NoneViolence NoneSource Received arc as part of blog tour

A serviceable small town romance completely devoid of reality It felt even Mayberry than Mayberry Like every small town ever depicted in a Hallmark movie The heroine checks the newspaper want ads for job listings for heaven sake Yes in a book published in 2016But I read this at a time when my real life was uite stressful and a complete break from anything remotely real world was what I needed Pleasant but it didn't light my world on fire

Luci has had an unreuited crush on Cody forwell for a very long time When a summer journalism job throws them together with her as the writer and him as the photographer she finds she's not too sure she's over him Luci is a fun character and not too complex She's the baby of her family and desires nothing than to put down her organized roots stay in her hometown and spend a lot of time with her family I'm wasn't surprised for her to discover that you cannot plan your life out because wrenches are thrown into carefully laid plans all the time There are some unexpected twists that derail her plan in a hurry and one of them is Cody Cody is the opposite of Luci He goes where his camera leads him and is a very spur of the moment type of guy one who has no desire at all to nest I was expecting romance with this one especially given the title and I definitely would have liked but it's still a sweet little story I always enjoy the characters journeys of growth and overcoming hard things I really loved the setting I love the beach and could picture living in this great small town I also loved the relationships between each character and hisher family members as well as Luci in the role of a mentor to Tessa This is a gentle sweet and clean summer romance perfect for a pool or beach read There's nothing too deep and is great fluff readingContent mild romance kissing vague implication of past unmarried intimate relations; no violence; one mild expletive; no religious elements CleanI received a copy through Prism Book Tours in exchange for an honest review

3 25 starsI found this book at a book sale and I gravitated towards it because the synopsis seemed good like a cute summer read And I think it’s a cute book It’s about a girl who falls for her brother’s friend except the guy doesn’t return the feelings since he’s 6 years older than her Then they part ways because the guy has always liked adventures and fast forward to some years later and they returns to his hometown for the summer and the girl realizes that her feelings towards him never changed He realizes that he has been keeping his feelings towards her to himself and it’s up to the both of them to make their relationship work I like Luci and Cody although I do feel like they’ve been walking on tiptoes whenever they’re together trying to avoid the unavoidable But in a way I do agree that it would have been such a huge decision to make since Cody is only staying for the summer and then he would be off to a different place again while Luci likes to stay in the same place They had different personalities and they tend to clash But they really liked each other despite that I also like that the story tackles about familyI think I relate to Luci is so many ways For one I like to write and read and I graduated with a degree in PR But also I understand her need to stay in her hometown and to stay with her family Family is so important traditions are so important Luci loves routines and traditions so when things change it got hard for her to accept it When her family members argued and disagreed it was hard for her to handle it And then Cody suddenly shows that he likes her And at his age and with their past he suddenly realizes that he wants to marry her Of course she says yes And I like that they found a compromise She goes with Cody to wherever he goes he takes photos and she works alongside him After a project they’d go back to their hometown and to their families and Luci realizes that families weren’t meant to be perfect they were meant to work things through together through easy or difficult situations The romance part of the book is okay I never really rooted for the couple because I didn’t feel the connection between them but I like that they had their happy ending But I did like the family part of the story as it showed real problems within the family and I like that they were able to resolve these problems at the end of the day Overall it was an okay uick read It’s about the family and less about the romance When it comes to romantic relationship I think it’s focuses on compromising with one another less on grand romantic gestures or kilig moments Maybe Cody isn’t that type of guy but I like that he always thought of Luci’s well beings and he’s 30 years old so good for him that he finally accepted that he had feelings for Luci

3 12 STARSYou can come home again but will it ever be the same as you remembered it?I enjoyed this story The characters are fun with a lot of potential there would have liked to have seen them decide to test their relationship waters earlier in the bookLuci Monroe has finished up school and is coming back home to Willow Beach to be close to her family She's landed a great job doing PR and is ready to start living her lifeImagine her surprise when Cody Jarvis strolls in She had a huge crush on him years ago but he just considered her a friend and the little sister of one of his high school pals Now they're going to be doing some work together for the summer and she can't help but still feel that twinge when he's nearWill she be able to stand strong against her feelings for him when she knows he will just leave to roam the world once this temp job is over? Or could Cody actually feel something for her too this time?
