WTF Too many triggers Can't believe Viola Grace wrote this and this is supposed to be a romance? Will be staying away from this series for sure

  2. Rosebud Rosebud says:

Lianne currently lives on a Rrassic colony but not by choice Her alien captors have made it known that while she and the other humans can live and work independently to support themselves they are still hostages and their individual families on Earth will pay the price for bad behavior and escapes A fluke on Lianne's admission input screening wrongfully identifies an allergy that exempts her as a breeder for the aliens Her assigned work detail as a forklift operator is similar to what she did on Earth and keeps her away from the majority of aliens When an accidental injury reuires treatment her blood work ends up reinstating her breeder status making it open season for those wanting to court LianneTracker Sorrok was one of the few who tagged the humans to be abducted on Earth Not participating in the actual extraction he lost track of the female he personally wanted as a mate When fate brings them back together Sorrok does everything in his power to convince Lianne he should be her choice With many wanting mates some will use whatever mains possible to secure Lianne Sorrok will have to pull on all his hunter skills to make sure he's the last alien standing Having read the series out of order I can 100% say that I'm so happy that I read Overseer’s Chain Brace for Humanity #3 BEFORE I read this one Doesn't make sense I know but there's important facts and back stories included in Overseer's Chain that helped me understand and appreciate Untrained Fascination That's my take anywayThe book blurb gives a good tease of the story Along with my own take any potential reader can decide if this is the sort of story they'd like to check out I'm becoming a fan myself with the exception that I'm on the fence on the whole Earther role in the series Time will tell which way I go as things play outFeline alien Sorrok and Earth female Lianne definitely had chemistry as a couple but while I appreciated the 'courting' definitely would have liked adult intimacy scenes between the two It is what it is though as it's the author's call to dictate her story bringing me along as a voyeurThe cast of secondary characters does work to support the overall story but this is one time I really appreciate having read the series out of order Would have had a totally different take on Bella Isabella and 'others' if I had done otherwise I'm excited for future installments though as I'm becoming vested DThe downfalls of this story definitely fall in the world building There are voids and unanswered uestions other potential readers will have which is again why I'm happy I read series out of order Also confusing is the fact that there are different alien species classes and classification and I almost took pen and paper to list them out to track and for clarity purposes Not sure on rational for this this but will wait to see how it plays outInteresting series and take on the mars needs women premise that fans of SciFi romance might want to check out It's a plot driven story line supported by a core romance light on adult content though includes mystery elements to mull over

Untrained Fascination is an unusual readI'm not saying it's bad I'm just saying it's not that greatA 25 star that ualifies as BIZARREI couldn't take it seriously but neither did I find myself not enjoying it It took time to understand what put me off and also pinpoint the reasons I found the story pleasing yet not Let's start with the negative stuff The world building is poor The plot is not defined until you're at the point where it's really irrelevant You don't feel like it matters because there is no impact and it will be resolved uickly So who cares? The characters have no backgrounds and they don't feel relatable in any way Their actions and the lack of information on their past leaves holes all through the story It's also a little wacky when it comes to the rules and the alien society our heroine lives in It made me feel a little detached Also I snorted in disbelief most of the time The storyline and characters just don't make sense when you really think of how they metIs it displeasing? A drag? No NoIt's just off BizarreThe good stuff is mainly the dialogues between HH and the romance It was gradual and very sweet I could not stop fawning over Sorrok I have soft spot for feline aliens or aliens with feline characteristics I didn't care about the rest of it reallyIt was a sexy read with a little romance as a side dish In a world that could not be considered very futuristic in my humble opinion But I did have fun Still entertaining does not mean good You have been warned

I liked it overall butIt was a pretty uick and easy read but there was no emotional depth For example the heroine went through the trouble of trying to avoid being a breeder but when they catch up to her she is not concerned at all Literally she said Oh well what a sucky day Really? Not even one sentence to express any deeper emotions? I am angry frustrated scared bitteranything? If she had anything other than a nonchalant attitude it would have been a better book

Amazing Loved loved loved itGreat start to a new series

3 starsI don't think this series is for me I usually don't mind the voluntary migration in so many of the alien human mate stories But in this case we have aliens specifically picking off people from Earth as manual labourers or breeders It doesn't matter that they are treated well and given wages and nice living conditions they are still captives with threats of harming their loved ones over their heads no matter how our hero sugar coated it So I'm going to give this one a miss I think But if you don't mind the forced alien abduction scenario and like an alien hero with feline traits then this one is for you

  7. Lara Lara says:

This is the second book in Grace's new series The first had some uncomfortable moments with uestionable consent but also allowed the heroine to gain agency and power despite her weak position In this book a number of humans have been taken from Earth and put to work in exchange for the safety and support of their loved ones back home Most are given work private uarters pay and freedom to use the facilities throughout the compound Others are set aside as Breeders they don't work but are expected to find mates among the aliensThe heroine of this book knew the heroine of the previous one Lianne is shell shocked when she finds that she is suitable to be a Breeder and very relieved when Bella gives her an out and places her in a job she knows and does well After a while she has excelled in her job but has little social life Suddenly she comes to notice when she acts to save people from unexpected disaster Lianne finds herself stalked by a Hunter and his crew Her freedom of movement is lost and the next thing she knows she finds herself in the middle of a secret plot and fighting for her safety Fortunately she has a Hunter on her side He doesn't push but does protect She is skittish but when she knows that she is in control of any relationship progress she is able to make some moves While there are some unsettling issues involved in this book Lianne's own story gives her control over what she won't do than Bella's did I very much enjoyed this book

  8. Shoshanah Lila Shoshanah Lila says:

Even though there are only 99 pages in the story it is complete and well written There is a full plot interesting characters and an interesting story There are World building details to clue in readers to the basic framework of the society that this is not the Earth they know while allowing readers to flex their imagination muscle to fill in details The author's ability to do all this in a short work shows she is accomplished in her writing craft I sympathize with those who would complain that the stories are too short because I too would like to have the story continue I find consolation in the fact that this is an introductory story to a series and that further details will surface as the story unfolds over hopefully Many episodes It would be nice for these characters to return as supporting actors in other stories set in this world Many thanks to Ms Grace and to smashwords for offering this work in a format that is compatible with my Google Play reader's TTS function As a dyslexic who enjoys a good story it means a lot that I can enjoy a book without having to struggle

  9. Hayley Hayley says:

I'll accept that Viola Grace's books are a little kooky There's usually not alot of plot and they always seem to go a certain way but I didn't like this at all I couldn't get past the fact that Lianne and the others were kidnapped and there against their will They all just seem ok with it? Because they can work and have money and gyms and cafes? If you have a pet bird and train it and feed it and take it to the vet buy it toys to play with and love it it'll likely still fly out the window if it gets a opportunity A gilded cage is still a cage and I HATED that Lianne just seemed to forget thatI also detested the ending view spoiler She's perfectly ok getting knocked up and when it's confirmed she's carrying triplets and is told they're going to remove the embryos the book just ends Literally just ends WTF???? hide spoiler

  10. namericanwordcat namericanwordcat says:

I found this world an interesting one if highly unethical The imbalance of power made for a lot of discomfort but at the same time it felt realistic as to what it might be like if such abductions were to occur A like the different kinds of the races in the aliens I like that the heroine has a working class job she is very good at and is in this kind of zoned out space in her head in this new reality The hero is very steeped in his own culture He is kind over allThere are some plot turns that are unexpected and interesting and the romance is much developed longer and layered than Grace's books usually are I liked it
