Setting small town in Colorado autumn present time Karin Kaufman’s Death of a Scavenger Juniper Grove Mystery #2 opens with annual scavenger hunt in October If you have never been on a scavenger hunt I highly recommend as it as it is tons of fun This scavenger hunt has some of the participants discovering one member of one of the teams dead on a person’s property who did not agree to be part of this scavenger hunt The scavenger hunts of which I have on I promise no dead bodies have been found Please remember this is a mystery 😉 It appears that uite a few players and town’s people wished the victim dead but highest amount of suspicion falls’ on Holly ‘baker extraordinaire’ and good friend of Rachael Stowe the town’s sleuth Rachael is determined to get her close friend off this list of suspectsPolice Chief Gilroy is aware that Rachael always wants to find the truth but he does not want her to investigate That is his job but he knows that he cannot stop her investigating completely but he is calm and in control Officer Underhill asks Rachael as she is leaving the station “Do you two I meanseeing each other?” “Mortified” Rachael ran to her carNow I cannot tell you what is actually happening You must read Book 2 to uncover the answers but I shall tell you that Rachael does aid Chief Gilroy in finding the murderer but there is a bit 425 stars

This is just such a fun cozy series and it's always hard to see whodunit The Juniper Grove setting is like another character since it adds extra flavor to the mysteries Endearing characters I like Miss Julia

If you like cozy mysteries here is a good one It's book two in Karin Kaufman's 'Juniper Grove Mystery' series I loved the first and I loved this one There are five total I can't wait for the next oneThese books are best read in order Mystery writer Rachel Stowe moves back to her native Colorado after a disappointment in the big city of Boston Now she's solving real life mysteries along with her two new friends and cohorts in sleuthing Now if she can only get this police chief to look her way Clever and well written Kaufman's mysteries keep you guessing until the end And if you want a tighter mystery and loads of suspense try her Anna Denning Mystery series It's wonderfulI was given a complimentary copy of this book All opinions are my own and honest

Halloween and murder is taking over the charming town of Juniper Grove ColoradoThis second book in the series kept me guessing and I loved the team Rachel Holly and Julia swinging into action The mystery was fast paced and I changed my mind about the murderer several times I loved the idea of using a scavenger hunt as a setting for murder especially during Halloween Not only did I enjoy the mystery but also the descriptions of the town in October The setting was rich cozy and made me long for hot chocolate cinnamon tea sweaters and of course almond scones and cream puffs from Hollys's SweetsI can't wait for my next visit to Juniper Grove

Another winning mysteryIn book 2 of the Juniper Grove series Rachel Holly and Julia are taking part in the town scavenger hunt Suddenly one of the not so pleasant female business owners is found dead in the middle of the hunt When a strange flash drive with blood on it is found in Holly's backpack the townspeople turn against Holly thinking she is the murderer Holly's son is being bullied at school too Rachel and Julia begin to investigate because they want to clear Holly During the investigation Rachel discovers an old 20 year grudge might be the cause of the murder but which one of the old gang is the murderer? Will Rachel and Julia solve the murder? Will Rachel out herself in danger? Will the Chief finally listen to Rachel? This is a great series and the second book is just as good as the first

Even betterI have to be honest I wasn’t sold on the Juniper Grove series after I finished the first book but less than halfway into book two SOLD The characters’ personalities are coming out and the towns dynamic is really evolving I appreciate Ms Kaufman’s choice to write a series that is “clean” She proves that you don’t have to put sex violence and foul language in a book in order for it to be a truly enjoyable book Now it’s time to dive into book number 3

  8. Lauren Dottin-Radel Lauren Dottin-Radel says:

I really do like reading this series I have read the first one however I can not write a review of the first book until after my book club of this book i find Rachel Stowe to be nosy and just decides she wants to be a private investigator I also think its odd that everyone is willing to talk to her about these murders without it being a problem I will keep reading this series because I think this book is pretty good I would like to see Rachel actually work on a story or maybe write mysteries based off of the murders she is solving

  9. Patricia Patricia says:

Loved it This author is excellent I enjoy reading her books She writes about a mystery writer who tries to solve mysteries in her new little town In Death of a Scavenger Holly is accused of murder Rachel Stowe is out to prove her friend innocent Rachel uses her skills as a mystery writer to help solve the crime Is there romance blooming in Juniper Grove?

  10. Krystyna Krystyna says:

The past is never really put behind usTerrific The annual scavenger hunt is cut short when a body is discovered Why were they kiled and by whom? There a clues aplenty and a few red herrings that will have you rethinking who the killer is The characters are really growing into themselves A cozy that will keep you guessing until the end
