4 Christmas is wherever you are Stars Can’t Miss Christmas was the perfect introduction to Miranda Liasson’s writing Graham Walker and his ex wife Grace Alberts are stranded in Mirror Lake over the Christmas period After avoiding each other since their divorce the time spent together waiting out a snow storm gives them the chance to talk about the things that bought about and facilitated the breakdown of their marriage Somehow they’d let each other slip away It’s very evident that they both still love each other but rather than talk and support each other at one of the most emotional and heart breaking times of their marriage both of them pushed the other away something neither of them has ever really discussed since Even after all these years Graham’s stamp on her seemed permanent like a tattoo Indelible undeniable Although short this story packed a real emotional punch this is a couple with history so it was no struggle to believe the instant emotional connection and chemistry between them You are introduced to uite a few of the towns characters as this couple navigate their first Christmas together ‘post divorce’ and I must admit it in correlation with the immersive writing style I enjoyed it so much that I am definitely interested in reading the authors previous books set in and around this locale This is the perfect Christmas ‘uickie’ if you are looking to get a hold on some seasonal spirit or are looking for a break from the madness of the seasonARC generously provided via Netgalley in exchange for the above honest review

Favorite uotesThe whole place hushed and the eyes of the children surrounding him grew round with awe as if meeting her was on the same caliber as a visit with SantaGrace didn’t blame Monica for looking But that didn’t stop her from feeling like the most popular girl in school was attempting to take her prom date homeMy ReviewI felt the relevance and gravity of this heart sueezing tale of a devastated couple who had given up and divorced two years prior Too much had been left unsaid and unresolved yet the love still remained and nagged Ms Liasson fully captured the delicate issues of personal loss inner conflict tension and indefatigable hope as the divorced couple shared a car ride accident and layover packed with lingering feelings and an endless and sizzling sensual chemistry The storyline and writing were engaging heart sueezing and realistic while also well balanced and entertaining I adored this stubborn and complicated couple and was rooting for them from page one This was my first experience with the Mirror Lake series although I would love to make to return visit as soon as possible

I’m a sucker for second chance love stories and Miranda Liasson delivers big time in Can’t Miss Christmas Divorced two years this couple ends up together on a road trip two days before Christmas and through a series of mishaps finds the magic they once had together only better because this time they’ve had time and perspective to understand where they went wrong and the wisdom to keep it from happening again with a little help from the magic of the beloved town of Mirror LakeGraham Walker can’t talk himself out of walking into the books store where he knows his ex wife and beloved children’s author Grace Alberts is signing her latest release Sure he tells himself it is to get a book for his niece who despite their divorce still loves Grace and her books with all her heart but deep down he knows it is something The sexual tension between these two from the first moment they see each other again is undeniable and while they are a bit nervous and uneasy with one another as they begin their trip it becomes and evident there is still something between them They’d both had other relationships that didn’t last which I think was important because it wasn’t like they were pining for one another for two years but those relationships made them realize what they had was something Getting stuck in the small town of Mirror Lake was just what they needed and I was very happy to see so many of the town’s residents willing to help these two figure out they needed each other in their livesSentimental sweet with a side of sexy Can’t Miss Christmas is a delightful holiday novella

Reviewed for Romancing the Readers Blog me Miranda Liasson is a first time author I haven't yet had the pleasure of reading one of her books When I decided to review this one I didn't really see what it was about or is it was part of a series I just knew it was a Christmas story so I wanted to read it It turns out that it is part of a series called Mirror Lake I was a little worried going in because when I started it I then saw that it was part of a series I'm glad to report that it can totally be read on its own If you're looking for a sweet holiday second chance story this one is for you This was a long story but I think that because it was a second chance romance it worked You knew they already has a relationship even if said relationship was in the past It made it easier to believe that these two loved each other and wanted to be together You're told all the past relationship stuff right up front so that also was something you didn't need to deal with throughout the story all you had to do was worry about the here and now I really appreciated that This is a very sweet story that made me tear up every so often because it was heartbreaking knowing what they dealt with in their past together It really was the perfect holiday story I learned enough about the series from this one book that I will have to check out the other books in the series I liked the characters that I met Follow me on received for a honest review

I fell in love with this one from the very first page Grace and Graham's story is one that tugged at all my heartstrings and filled me with joy and hope It was perfect for any time of year but especially so around the holidays Grace Alberts is an author of children's books and she truly hates disappointing any of her fans That's what keeps her at signing way too long considering the weather and desperate to find a way through the storm to the next signing she has scheduled She's shocked to see her ex husband in the crowd waiting for an autograph but she's not surprised when he offers to get her to Philadelphia in time for the signing Their divorce was never because they stopped loving each other They just didn't know how to move on from a very hard time in their lives When an accident strands them in Mirror Lake Being stranded forces them to spend time together and ultimately deal with the past Put this one on the must read list I highly recommend it

A decent holiday novella by a favorite author With their emotional past though I almost think this story would've been better as a full length book

Graham would do anything for his niece which is why he is at his ex wife's book signing He plans to wish Grace a Merry Christmas and walk out again but fate has other plans Because of a snowstorm there are no flights to Philadelphia which is Grace's next stop one she doesn't want to miss because she will be spending time at a children's hospital Graham has a Range Rover and is heading the same way so he offers to drive her Is it a good idea for Grace to accept?Graham and Grace have a past They used to love each other very much but when things became difficult they didn't make it as a couple Spending time with each other in a small space will force them to talk Will they be able to face their difficulties this time? An accident messes up their plans and they're stranded in Mirror Lake which means they have even time to get through together Will the magic of Christmas bring them a second chance? Can't Miss Christmas is a beautiful emotional story Graham and Grace are both kindhearted people They went through a lot and my heart ached for them when I read about what they had to face together They both deserve some happiness in their lives and I kept hoping they would be able to work things out However life is tough and talking about devastating pain is difficult I loved how Miranda Liasson combines grief with love hope and dedication She balances the good and the bad in a gorgeous way that moved me to tearsMiranda Liasson knows how to write romantic stories Her main characters are special people they work hard to make something of their lives and like everyone else they also make mistakes I love that combination and seeing them grow on a personal level is heartwarming Can't Miss Christmas is festive and enchanting There's sorrow and there are tears but there are also plenty of smiles and romance I especially enjoyed the amazing feelgood ending I love reading about true love and Miranda Liasson has written another wonderful story about this great topic
