4 memorable stars to The Life Lucy Knew ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Wow talk about an original premise Lucy Sparks falls and hits her head When she wakes up she searches for her husband in her hospital room Not only is he not there “he’s” actually not her husband Instead her current boyfriend Matt who is present is broken hearted when he realizes she is in love with her ex who was never really her husband anyway part of the memory is created Lucy is diagnosed with a condition called honest lying While her memories feel real to her some of them are false The hardest thing to work through is figuring out which of her memories really are hers As Lucy heals she is at a crossroads and has to figure out where to take her life I loved her as a character and my heart ached for the emotional turmoil she experienced I also thought Matt was a steadfast nurturing warm character and I was rooting for him to win back Lucy’s heart He took such good care of her and worked so hard in trying to help her regain her memory Karma Brown is a go to for dependable emotional reads and The Life Lucy Knew is memorable and heartwarming Thank you to Karma Brown Park RowHarleuin and Edelweiss for the copy The Life Lucy Knew will be released on June 12 2018 My reviews can also be found on my blog wwwjennifertarheelreadercom

3 stars I have read and loved every one of Karma Brown’s books She is one of my favourite authors Unfortunately this novel fell shy of my hopes and expectationsLucy Sparks wakes up from a coma after falling and hitting her head She has lost most of her memory from the last four years She also discovers that she has what her doctors call ‘false memories’ or ‘honest lying’ Her brain has created memories that feel real but are not real Through therapy sessions along with the help of her friends and family Lucy works to unravel the details of her life that seem scattered and broken I found the premise of the story intriguing however the execution didn’t uite work for me I couldn’t connect with Lucy As devastating as her situation was I didn’t “feel” anything for herFor me the storyline seemed to take on a less serious tone than Brown’s previous novels Even though this novel didn’t live up to my love of her previous books I still look forward to what Karma Brown has in store for us next I remain a huge fan of her work This was a Traveling Sister read with my lovely Norma To find this review along with the other Traveling Sister read reviews please visit Norma and Brenda’s fabulous blog at big thank you to NetGalley Harleuin and Karma Brown for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review

35 StarsTHE LIFE LUCY KNEW by KARMA BROWN was an enjoyable interesting uick and easy read that had an extremely interesting and fascinating premise to it I absolutely love books with an amnesia component to the storyline and whereas I did enjoy this one I was a little disappointed with the ending I normally thoroughly enjoy Epilogues and all that they reveal to us but with this one I would have liked to have had a little insight into the inbetween of our main characters relationship therefore lowering my overall rating KARMA BROWN delivers a well written read here with an engaging and uniue storyline that has us following along with Lucy and her heartbreaking journey Our main character Lucy is suffering from a head injury where her brain has re written her memories causing false memory I really felt strong emotions for Lucy and what she endured I can’t even imagine how I would feel or how I would react in a similar situation Overall it was an enjoyable entertaining and uick read with an ending that I wasn’t completely satisfied with Karma Brown is an author that I thoroughly enjoy as she always delivers a reliable heartwarming and emotional read Would recommend This was a Traveling Sister Read that I read along with my lovely Lindsay Thank you so much for reading this book with me 💕 Thank you so much to NetGalley Karma Brown and Harleuin Hanover Suare Press US CanadaPark Row for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a reviewReview written and posted on our themed book blog Two Sisters Lost In A Coulee ReadinghttpstwosisterslostinacouleecomCoulee a term applied rather loosely to different landforms all of which refer to a kind of valley

I loved this story as I do with all of Karma's books Set in Toronto where the author lives and I grew up made the story exceptionally appealing being familiar with the streets and various locations mentionedAn original and interesting premise has Lucy Sparks waking up from a coma after falling and hitting her head only to have false memories She knows who she is but the life she recalls living is not the life she has led Healing and moving on becomes complicated as she isn't sure which memories are real and which are falseEngaging characters a clever storyline an emotional readI highly recommend The Life Lucy Knew by Karma BrownThank you to Karma Brown NetGalley and Park Row Publishers for an arc of this novel in exchange for my honest review

35 STARSNo matter how many I come across I'm always a sucker for a novel that features an amnesia component There's something about the protagonist's journey across the unknown that grabs me and Karma Brown has found a uniue flair to make her story  The Life Lucy Knew stand out in the crowd of others like it While I did hope to grasp a little of Lucy and Matt's relationship by the end and desired a little from the epilogue I did immensely enjoy following Lucy along such a difficult journey Highly recommended to fans of Brown's previous work and for those looking to pick up a dependable read that is emotional but not too heavy I received a review copy from the publisher via NetGalley

Sometimes the things that used to make sense don’t make sense any Karma Brown is a new author for me Despite I had some issues with the story itself I must admit this woman can write Wow It was somehow a new experience for me romance with an intense suspense which wasn’t a thriller or a detective story I couldn’t put it down I was literally glued to my Kindle After I read the blurb I was sure based on my huge reading history that I knew how the story would goLet’s see a woman wakes up with an amnesia after the accident and thinks she were married to her actually ex whom she didn’t see for years I drew 2 scenarios1 Her ex turns out to be her dream man current bf immediately dismissed they hex find each other reunion love best sex ever she falls down and hits her head while chasing butterflies her memory comes back HEA with 3 kids 1 in her belly2 Her current bf turns out to be the best man ever her ex is a villain and causes drama she gets into the accident and hits her head while saving a cute worm from rainy weather her memory comes back HEA with 2 kids dog cat and of course the cutest pet ever worm Charly ; But I could never imagine how this author did fold this story out Nothing predictable well at least not for me Very intense honest – no extra sugar coating uniue for some readers probably unlikable heroine no miracles decent ending but not a la la land HEAI’ll put the big part of my review under the spoiler tag If you plan to read this book don’t click itThe book was semi safe for me kind of love triangle Very probably unsafe for many readersI’m not into the line read this book if you’re brave Bravery has nothing to do with reading a book A person is brave when heshe saves a life chooses a dangerous career path risks hisher life Sorry but it needed to be said lolYou may read this book if you want a different story If you’re ok with a book which makes you feel and not necessarily happiness but also frustration and which makes you think If you’re ok with an intense reading experience but also with some unsolved issues – this may be a good book for youWarning Spoilers Warningview spoilerI suck at retelling And for those who didn’t read the book my review would probably do not make much sense Sorry lolThe heroine woke up with some kind of amnesia I learned it’s called a confabulated memory disorder which meant she had some kind of falsemismatched memory I have a few memories that aren’t real but they feel superreal to meSo Lucy woke up at the hospital and asked for her husband Daniel who was actually her ex fiancé whom she left 4 years ago She thought to know their past incl wedding had clear memories of them together which as you get correctly was totally false Her current bf Matt was only a good friend in her headmemoriesAnd so the story went on Kind of love triangle came from Lucy’s attempts to get to know ‘new’ Daniel who was actually married to one of Lucy’s ex gf See totally twisted that’s why I don’t like to retellIn a nutshell Matt was amazing – caring sweet faithful – one of the best heroes I read; but not your typical alpha hole; some readers may even say he was beta – I don’t care He was an amazing manLucy was a difficult character I need to connect to the heroine otherwise the book is lost for me And here I could But only after I switched my brain from super romantic to suspense romantic You may say she hurt Matt – and yes she did But then I thought what would I do in similar situation? And I have no answer So many people liedkept the truth from her and this made her weird and difficult situation even worse I say the 1st drunk uick kiss with Daniel wasn’t cheating I still didn’t like it but I could understand why she did it But the 2nd was a low blow – and even if I could understand why it happened and she was actually on a relationship break with Matt her knowing that Daniel was married and had a baby on the way pissed me off I didn’t like Daniel I couldn’t stand him – he left his 1st fiancé for the heroine or so I understood he almost cheated on his wife with the heroine and that’s why I REFUSE to believe in his statement that the reason he and Lucy broke up 4 years ago because she cheated on him I REFUSE TO ACCEPT HIS LIES And since there was no resolution miracle Lucy took his words as the only thing she knew I hate unresolved issues grr but I must admit Ms Brown made a very clever thing here She gave us as readers a choice I chose NOT to believe Daniel Fck him Jerk is already forgotten lolAs I mentioned above there is no miraculously hitting the head accident view spoilerthe heroine didn’t get her memories completely back at the end but only partially hide spoiler

You know I couldn't resist reading this one earlyRead this and other reviews at Carlene InspiredLucy Sparks is happily married has a fantastic job and has the best memories of her lifeonly her memories aren't her own A nasty fall leaves her confused having forgotten her relationship with her boyfriend and co worker Matt her family's big life events and who she really is What her doctor calls honest lying is really her brain filling in the blanks and when Lucy tries to live normally she finds that what her head knows and what her head remembers are very differentI love a good memory loss novel movie or TV show so of course I was all over The Life Lucy Knew by Karma Brown Lucy is written in a way that makes you really care for her and believe her predicament She's sweet naive in this new position and very kind hearted It is very obvious that she cares for her family her friends and her spouse even if she has the wrong one in her memories The fictitious memories seem very real with Lucy able to describe them down to the exact details but as she tries to recover her memories she begins to understand that though the memories are real some may not even be her own It was fairly realistic in the sense that I had never heard of false memories but I could believe in it for the story Lucy's emotions are all over the place her family and friends try everything and some of the events that follow her waking up are hard but necessary I appreciated that it wasn't all easy and that it wasn't truly a romance but rather a story of a woman dealing with a difficult event and overcoming it despite the speed bumps along the wayThe Life Lucy Knew was a nice break from my usual reads and was just the sort of pacing I was looking for I do wish the epilogue had to it but ultimately I enjoyed the story It's the kind of novel you read while relaxing by the pool or cozied into a blanket the story not over dramatic or filled with angst ARC provided

The only thing she remembers about Matt is that he is her co worker Oh yeah the story is just that crazy good Once you start reading it will be very hard to put downTHE LIFE LUCY KNEW is without a doubt one of the most original books I've read in 2018 so far I was instantly emotionally invested in all of the characters I have never read a book by Karma Brown before but now that I've read this one I'm going to check out her previous books and read them all too All of Karma's characters feel genuine and relatable and put your emotions on one heck of a roller coaster ride As you are reading you will find yourself cheering for all of them praying they can work out their problems and be happy once again You will soon be wondering if Lucy will ever be able to get her memory back Karma's writing is very engaging and hooked me from the very first page The suspense and mystery kept me reading late into the night and I had to know how much Lucy would remember Would she go back to Daniel even though he was married to someone else? Would she eventually remember how much Matt meant to her?
