Someday Her Duke Will Come is the second book in the Happily Ever After series by Ellie St Clair I can't say that I enjoyed it very much although it was a nice read I enjoyed the heroine in the first book as a wonderful friend but this her turn to pretend as a fake fiance to a Duke so that he won't revert back to his first love comes off not a good plot Although I finished this very short read it was not what I was anticipating3 Stars

Fake fiancé with a twist I would like to thank the author for providing a free copy of the book in return for an honest reviewSome day her duke will come is the second book in the Happily ever after series It can be read as a standalone or as part of the series I haven't read the first book and I found this one easy to get into This book follows Tillie Andrews a dress designer in need of a fiancé to get away from the domesticated life her mother wants her to live and Alexander Landon Duke of Barre who wants to get to know Tillie better and have her overlook his rakish reputation It's an enjoyable story with a few historical mistakes This is not a clean regency read

  3. Teri Donaldson Teri Donaldson says:

This is an absolutely charming and adorable Regency romanceTillie is an engaging character I loved that she is smart beautiful and a talented dress designer It was refreshing to have a heroine be interested in starting a business than attending balls and falling in love Reconnecting with Alexander was fortunate Although she thought him to be a rogue he offers her the chance to realize her dreams Love wasn't part of her plans Alexander has hopes that it will beThe book is easy to read and while second in a series it can certainly be read as a stand alone I hope that you will be as charmed by this book as I was

Tillie is a successful dressmaker in London and is enjoying her independent and single wife But her parents are determined to wed her off in an arranged marriage to a boring guy Alex comes to her rescue and offers her a deal as his fake fiance This story is too funny I laughed I cried and I kept page turning Well written with great characters and an engaging storyline I received an advance copy and voluntarily chose to review it

  5. Lorka Lorka says:

I started this story and I never thought I would say this but it was too sweet and silly for me I see a pattern here between this story and book #1 in the series I do need to give props to the author for trying a new original twist in the Cinderella low class meets Duke storyline But the excuses and reasons she creates in order to get the heroine and hero together are so outlandish I couldn't do it any Book 1 the heroine was a hat maker that was invited to a Duke's dinner party as a guest to verbally protect his mother from nasty guests This book #2 looks like the heroine is asked to be a fake fiancee to the Duke to stay by his side to constantly remind him to NOT fall back in love with his ex gf He didn't trust himself enough to not flirt with the nasty ex etc Way too Beta for me

  6. Valerie Grissom Valerie Grissom says:

Read it againSo when I downloaded the book it started with the story of the Duke of Carrington I thought it odd there was so much about a secondary character After reading a few pages I looked to the side and realized it was at 92% Apparently this was the second time I had gotten this story The other weird thing is I went back and started reading from the beginning I didn’t remember ever having read this story Needless to say it’s not a memorable tale I did enjoy the whole novel It had ups and downs and good romance Some of the characters dialogue doesn’t seem to connect or is superficial All in all I do recommend it

  7. Sabina Alilovic Sabina Alilovic says:

Well written story with great characters

This is book two in the “Happily Ever After” series I love our two main characters Matilda “Tillie” Andrews and Alexander Landon Duke of Barre Tillie the daughter of a wealthy shipping magnate designs and makes beautiful dresses for ladies of the ton although almost no one knows that She is attracted to Alexander but doesn’t think a husband would allow her to continue her dressmaking Without Tillie knowing it Alexander is also very attracted to her When Tillie’s father informs her she is to marry a man she detests she accepts Alexander’s proposal for a fake engagement and to spend the Christmas holidays at his family home in the country Tillie thinks her job is to be a buffer between Alexander and his former love interest Eliza Masters As they spend time together and get to know each other Tillie finds herself falling in love with him Things should be perfect but a strange circumstance and lack of trust force Tillie to return home They finally get their happily ever after ending but it takes uite a bit of doing to get there There is one bedroom scene before their marriage However I enjoyed this story from beginning to end I received a complimentary advance review copy of this book and have voluntarily expressed my own opinions

  9. Lori D Lori D says:

This is the second book in the Happily Ever After Series I did read the first book but this can be a stand alone story Tillie Andrews lives at home with her parents and several brothers and is in no hurry to marry if ever She secretly designs gowns and sells some locally but would love to start her own business and be independent But her parents have other plans and want her to get married to a very undesirable man and begin her own household Desperate to not marry this gentleman Tilley is surprised when she runs into Alexander the Duke of Landon at a ball She had met Alex previously at her best friend's wedding and had really been attracted to him Alex has a scheme he wans Tilley to participate in as acting as his betrothed through the Holliday season This is were the the fun begins Is Alex only pretending to care for her or does Tilley have her on feelings for Alex This is a delightful story of things not always being as they appear Cannot wait for further stories in this series and know you will enjoy this story
