So I got this review copy a while back and though I was really excited to be reading it at that point the moment I started it I wanted to get over with it real uick This is the second book in the entanglement series and I haven't read the first book but was assuming that the previous book might not have very drastic influence on it Coming to the book at hand CHASING CHAOS is about Daphne beautiful successful writer in Hollywood She has everything going for her on the outside but she is uite a mess within She holds herself responsible for the damage caused to people around her which is apparently the story of the earlier book and how she is of the firm belief that she destroys everything in her wake She breaks up with her boyfriend who she felt no love for ever because again she is too scared to love as she is a living disaster waiting to happen As luck has it she is directed to a man that she just might fall in love with and with happiness around the corner disaster strikes again No points for guessing who is responsible The characters are given a voice of their own and yet seema little undefined The leading lady is rather annoying She is strange self loathing and drowning in guilt that she takes upon herself without logic and is arrogant and fierce on the outside She is almost arrogant and yet apparently protective of people she loves Coming with a background she loathes she is bitter and overtly guarded The character traits are so putting off its just too annoying Also the reference to the past and the earlier book is too much and again was very disconnected for someone who hasn't read the earlier book Lastly the leading characters are constantly stuck in their past and maybe this is how they are meant to portrayed but the mystery at one point seems so unimportant The whole idea of being drawn into the past is so depressing that you literally start getting irked by their pessimistic behavior Having said that there are many books that talk about these issues but they seem to convey an emotion or an idea but here nothing

As things become complex in Daphne Saito's life with Greta getting married and having to face the reality of her relationship with Dan she is thrown into further turmoil when she starts a friendship with Marlon Sandy's handyman and friend However is is usually the case with Miss Saito trouble isn't far behindI read the second book in this series some months back and became absorbed by the characters in this contemporary romance Be warned the characters are major my flawed but that's what I found appealing about the story and was glad to catch the final book in this seriesEasy to read and light hearted fiction in comparison to many of the heavy thrillers I've read recently Chasing Chaos was a leisurely read and a welcome break on my reading list

Daphne Salto has a career others would be jealous of She should be happy but she is restless and her boyfriend Dan is about to be another causality in her life As her life begins to lose control Daphne's ex becomes a ticking time bomb a lie she created gets revealed and her best friend is getting married Can Daphne find a way to stop spiraling? This was a bit too angsty for me Daphne is destructive and it was hard to relate to her character because she just thinks about herself I thought the overall concept was intriguing but had one big glaring subject that I struggled with through out the story Written well just not for me

I wish I had known that this was book 3 of a series before I started reading it Had I known I would have sought out the other two books to read first The one thing that kept me from giving this a 5 star rating is that the book makes an extraordinary amount of references to events that occurred in Daphne and Greta's past but barely explains what those are One can only surmise that these events are referenced in the first 2 books of the seriesIf you ignore those references and remind yourself that everyone in your life has a past that you are unaware of then you can read this book as a standalone novel Daphne Saito is living the dream in LA writing screenplays that sell and hanging out in exclusive clubs that her friends own Due to events from Daphne's past she has trouble letting people in but after breaking up with someone she meets the man that may be able to see past all that But where Daphne goes trouble always seems to follow With people out for revenge and events occurring for her best friend that she is trying to arrange Daphne does her best to keep her head above waterIgnore the references to the past and enjoy this fast paced tale of life Los Angeles for those that have crossed the line and have made it Meanwhile I will be looking for the first 2 books in this series I received this e book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

Daphne Saito has been blessed with good looks and writing talent but these gifts do little to negate the impact of her unhappy childhood Daphne is a young woman who has difficulty forming relationships both friend and romantic attachments and goes out of her way to avoid confronting the realities of her life preferring instead to engage in self destructive behaviours Daphne is insecure and self absorbed believing that all of the negative events in hers and her friend’s lives are somehow the result of her actions When her best friend announces that she is to marry her long term partner Daphne goes out of her way to create a wonderful day for the couple But all of her chickens come home to roost when her ex boyfriend decides to cause trouble a friend she wronged years ago comes on to the scene and her recent on night stand shows up at the wedding Will Daphne be able to confront her demons and allow herself the opportunity to find true love?I am not usually one for “Chick Lit” books but I really enjoy Katie Rose Guest Pryal’s style of writing The characters are easy to relate to and I am pretty certain that everyone has or has had a friend like Daphne The book makes for a great read and would be a wonderful addition to any holiday reading library

I read part 3 in the Entanglement Series Chasing Chaos by Katie Rose Guest Pryal without having read the first 2 titles It didn't impact the ease to get into the story of Daphne Saito and her friends and families Daphne is a stunning screenwriter who just ended a relationship with her longtime boyfriend Dan In the course of only five days a one night stand a role as the wedding planner for Greta and guardian angel to rescue her friend Carrie leave Daphne without a dull moment The rest searched for is not on the horizonMeet Miranda George who just like Greta's father turns into the wedding party late Learn to know the fate of a drugs addict and Dan It seems that everywhere Daphne comes chaos will result Is it intentional or coincidental? In all honesty adds dating promiscuous women to a little chaos? The novel has an abundance of short sentences and conversational phrases As a reader it is easy to read but without room to fantasize or let your thoughts wander Chasing Chaos can be consumed on its own although a seuel into these unbalanced lives is left open

I don't read a lot of books that aren't speculative fiction fantasysci fi etc but I picked up Chasing Chaos this weekend while on vacation and couldn't put it down I do read the occasional contemporary romance and this one was a page turner from beginning to end I especially liked that the female cast was strong and the women generally rescued themselves or each other without depending heavily on male intervention it was refreshing Although the male lead Marlon had his occasional alpha moments and his pig headed moments he was generally a great sympathetic character that I rooted for from the beginning The female lead Daphne was deeply flawed and her neurosis might have been too much to take but her friends called her on her BS and said all the things I was thinking and that helped me connect to this really great cast of charactersLooking forward to reading Entanglement the companion book in this series next
