I wasn't particularly impressed with the text which struck me as typical academic overreaching of what can be supported by a source but the albums themselves are a lot of fun and it is nice to see some of them well selected images; sadly it is far from complete or facsimile reproduced in an accessible version Kate Gough and her husband

Artistic talents of English Victorian aristocracy are beautifully reproduced here accompanied by interesting essays It's a lovely book however I do not feel a sycophantic love of the wealthy and their dalliances because the Irish holocaust occurred during their creation The class struggle reuired their overthrow culminating in the Easter Rebellion 1916 These facts have kept me from enjoying this with naivete and abandon
