A fairly decent post civil war romance very tame enjoyable Also a very uick readA lot of the history element was simply the reactions and tensions between people during the aftermath of the war some of which was fairly interesting I found the characters to be likable at first especially the heroine but towards the end they were all pretty uninteresting Overall I enjoyed it but found it forgettable
