Froggies be crazy yoWhat is the purpose of this book? I guess I haven't looked at a lift the flap book recently other than the Berenstain Bears books so maybe it's just the lift the flap thing The first two sentences are Duck saying I've lost the key to drive my truck and then you move a plant out of the way with a flap and there's a frog hiding behind it who says I've got the key don't tell Duck Why? He looks like he's going on a vacation He's got a suitcase Why is this frog hiding this dang key from him? Every page you turn the frog is moving to a different location with the key and Duck never finds him He just eventually finds that his keys are in the ignition the final place the frog puts them and then drives off without his suitcaseMaybe I have to have read Duck in the Truck the first book in the series to understand what's going on here but I can't figure out why this frog is just tormenting this duck Did he do something to his parents or something like that? Is he responsible for some kind of embarrassment in the past? It's not just that he's annoying the crap out of him He never even ends up revealing that he was the one that put Duck through this and Duck just ends up feeling like he solved the problem on his own It's just bizarreI don't understand what the point of this book is other than just being a weird lift the flap book of different places that the key could be It rhymes but the the second half of the rhyme is hidden behind a flap Like Is it underneath the mat? You'll have to look harder than that I don't know I didn't care for itMessage When you can't find something it's probably being hidden from you for no apparent reason by a small frogFor children's book reviews see my website at

This might make a fun lap read for kids who like lift the flap books but it's definitely not for story time A frog tormenting a duck for no reason just isn't funny to me And the duck forgetting his suitcase at the end is humor that's just going to go over the preschoolers' heads

  4. Monica Lopez Monica Lopez says:

This is an interactive mystery picture book that tells the story of a duck who misplaces his truck keys and the frog that is actually the culprit I really enjoyed the lift the flap feature of this book it made it fun and exciting The duck goes through various scenarios looking for his truck keys while the frog is hiding them all alongWhen you lift the flap it shows the frog hiding the keys and teasing the duck There is a cute rhyme to this book as well This book would be great for young children ages 2 4 since it is interactive and encourages the reader to touch the book

Duck is ready to go for a drive in his truckbut he can t find his keys It s a world wide phenomenon but Duck s problem namely Frog is anything but ordinaryThis engaging lift the flap book is perfect for little hands and will keep your youngest travelers peeking and seeking over and over againCute book for a younger crowd This could be used when students are loosing materials Must look EVERYWHERE

  6. Alyce Dougan Alyce Dougan says:

This is a story about a duck who can't find his key Throughout the story the frog is hiding the key from the duck In the book there are flaps that you lift up to see where the frog is hiding the key The story had good pictures but it was a little short This would be a good story to read to a three or four year olds

  7. Bethann Bethann says:

This is a good book for younger children You can read them the main part and then have them pull the flaps in order to see the Frog hiding with the key I read it to my little sister and she enjoyed finding the Frog with the keyIn the end the Duck believes he is clever even though Frog returned his key

  8. Rachel Rachel says:

I love it So do my boys my oldest one has enjoyed reading it for himself It's exciting to see him get interested enough in certain books that he'll sit down and read them for himself Not all books interest him like that but this one does

  9. Karen Karen says:

My six year old son and I took turns reading this book He was Duck; I was Frog He decided that Duck was a bucket filler and that Frog was a bucket dipper And he had fun looking under the flaps for the key

  10. The Brothers The Brothers says:

Dex 3 yo LOVES this book It's so simple just Duck searching around for his truck keys which are being hidden by Frog It's got flaps that the child can lift up to see where Frog is hiding themCute illustrations
